Market Factors Influencing Resale Prices in September 2026
1. The Memory Chip Shortage Is Pushing Used Prices Up
Sony has raised PlayStation 5 prices twice in 2026. The PlayStation 3 has fully crossed into retro-collector territory. A standard PS3 Slim or Super Slim is a modest $65 to $115 console, useful mainly as a budget media center or for a PS3 game library.
